Phaedra Parks is too much of a lady to call somebody stupid, but she pretty much implied it when talking about her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star Porsha Stewart on the show’s November 10th episode. After noting that Porsha’s short, new hairdo showed off her petite head, Phaedra then made a pretty shocking comment. “Small heads,” she stated, “mean little brains.” Oh snap!

In an exclusive sit-down with Wetpaint Entertainment the next day, Phaedra set the record straight. Does she really think her good friend Porsha’s a dumb-dumb? Here’s what she had to say:

Wetpaint Entertainment: Okay, lets talk about your comment. What did you mean by it?

Phaedra Parks: You know, I love Porsha. She and I, we have a wonderful relationship. Last season, I didn’t get to know her very well. But after it was announced, unfortunately, that she would be getting a divorce, she and I began to talk frequently. I wanted her to know I supported her and I wanted to give her good and accurate advice on the legal system. I just wanted to be there for her. Since then, we’ve hung out; she celebrated my birthday with me a week ago and she comes to my home quite often. I think she’s a wonderful girl.

But that said…

That said, we all know Porsha’s somewhat of a... blonde sometimes.  I don’t think she thinks she’s going to be the next astronaut, you know, but she’s a beautiful girl. Beauty and brains it’s a great combination, but beauty is sometimes even better.

I did say she has a small brain because she does say some things that are very…comical. But at the end of the day, she’s become a formidable businesswoman. She’s got her hair line and she’s also doing interior decorating. She’s actually helping me with some things. Under all of that hair, she’s got a lot of sense.

What kind of legal advice have you given her?

We’ve talked numerous times about what happens at the different stages of a divorce. I don’t want to share all the advice I’ve given her because it is legal advice and there is the issue of confidentiality between she and I. But Porsha’s a very smart girl and I think she’s handling this very well.

The way Kordell has been treating her seems pretty awful. Have you ever seen anything like it before?

Yeah, I’ve seen that and worse. Divorce brings out the worst in people because it turns them into adversaries. And when you’re fighting a battle, it isn’t pretty. I really sympathize with Porsha at this point because it’s hard. And to do it on national TV, with people you don’t know making comments and forming opinions about you, it’s tough. It really is.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
