If we had to spend Thanksgiving with any reality star, hands down it would be Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Phaedra Parks. Thanks to her new tome, Secrets of a Southern Belle, Phaedra literally wrote the book on how to be the hostess with the mostest. And from the sound of things, the guests coming to her home this holiday are definitely in for a memorable time.
“Every Thanksgiving I put my apron on on Tuesday,” Phaedra exclusively tells Wetpaint Entertainment. “And I cook straight up until dinner Thursday. We already have our tree out and everything.” But in case you didn’t score an invitation to Phaedra’s table, she’s given us her top three tips for hosting your own Thanksgiving feast!
1) “As a hostess, make sure you treat every guest as if they’re you’re only guest,” advises Phaedra. “Personally greet everyone when they walk in the door and make sure to introduce them to anyone they don’t know. Then, even if you have to go back into the kitchen, you’ll know you’ve left them in good hands.”
2) Leave everyone with a parting gift. “That makes it an occasion to remember,” notes Phaedra. “Make it something they can carry out with them, like a card or an ornament for their tree.”
3)Last, but not least, “have a roundtable discussion about what everyone’s thankful for,” suggests Phaedra. “It shouldn’t just be about the food. It’s about celebrating and enjoying the smaller things in life that we may take for granted the rest of the year.”
