Apollo Nida has already been to the clink, and he’s not looking to go back anytime soon. The Real Housewives of Atlanta husband is facing federal charges for identity theft, bank fraud, and conspiracy, among others, and he was due to appear in court on February 12. But according to new court documents, he’s trying to push that date back as much as possible.

In the paperwork obtained by RadarOnline.com, it outlines Apollo’s motion pleading with the federal judge to postpone his criminal hearing. The documents stated that Phaedra Parks’s husband had his request filed by his attorney on February 10, specifically asking to delay the trial “up to and including March 25, 2014.”

The reason for the postponement? Apollo’s plea cites the need to give “the parties sufficient time to discuss a potential resolution of this case” (i.e. a settlement). In other words, the father of two needs time to mull over whether he wants to continue with the trial or accept a deal with the Feds. We’re a little confused as to why he’d need to do this if he was innocent, but what do we know...

As far as we know, Phaedra has remained free of charges during this ongoing case — though she was involved in several of Apollo’s businesses. For the sake of adorable little Ayden and Dylan (aka “Mr. President”), we hope that Phaedra keeps clear of any of her husband’s legal issues.

What do you think of Apollo’s request to push back the court date? Is this telling of his guilt? Tell us in the comments below.
