We could hardly believe it when we read that Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Kandi Burruss would be appearing on The View on February 20, accompanied not only fiance, Todd Tucker… but also Mama Joyce! Most fans of the show are aware that Kandi’s mother is no fan of her husband-to-be, and we couldn’t believe that the two would actually be sitting just feet from one another.

To say it went off without a hitch wouldn’t be the truth, but they did at least get somewhere. The three conflicted people all put their issues out on the table, and were forced to speak calmly and rationally — for fear of pissing off the FCC (and Whoopi Goldberg!).

One of the important topics that was broken down, was Todd’s threat to possibly leave Kandi in the February 16 episode of RHoA. Fans watched as Kandi broke down into tears when her fiancé told her that, if things don’t improve with her mom, he might have to call it quits. So Whoopi and the rest of the gang put him on the spot, asking, “why did you say that?”

“I think everyone has a breaking point,” Todd begins, adding, “The lies.. that stuff is really tough. I have a mom, and it affects my mother. It affects my daughter.”

He also admits that the tension affects Kandi’s daughter, Riley — especially now that she’s old enough to watch the episodes. “The other day Kandi’s daughter told Kandi ‘I don’t like that he said he would leave you.’ Really that was my frustration of the situation, I wasn’t saying that to hurt her daughter.”

Aww, our hearts are breaking! Hopefully Joyce and Todd can come to some sort of truce, so that Riley won’t be bothered with this anymore. Eleven-year-olds shouldn’t have to trouble themselves with such things!

What do you think of Todd’s response? Are you as upset by Riley’s words as we are? Tell us in the comments below.
