NeNe Leakes sparked some controversy this season when she called Kenya Moore's gay bestie Brandon DeShazer a "queen" during an episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Some people didn't think twice about it, while others were clearly offended — including Kenya who publicly shamed NeNe for “gay bashing”. But, for famed drag queen RuPaul, NeNe's use of the word was no big deal.

Andy Cohen asked Ru how he felt about the incident when he recently appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live. Here's what the RuPaul’s Drag Race star had to say.

"The only thing that offends me is extreme poverty and deliberate cruelty," he began, elaborating, "It's the intent behind it… if it's meant to be mean, then it is mean. But most people are saying it in fun."

He then went on to add that, basically, people need to chill out already. "Everybody is offended by everything… what's wrong with ya'll, people? Don't be offended by everything!" he pleaded.

In short, he had one message to anyone out there that was bothered by NeNe's choice of words: "You have to work that stuff out with your therapist, but don't visit it on me," he concluded.

His co-guest on Watch What Happens Live that evening, Hotlanta Housewife Porsha Williams, concurred with Ru, piping up that people are too uptight.

Do you agree with RuPaul and Porsha that NeNe's use of the word "queen" was harmless or did you find it offensive, like Kenya did? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
