Oh dear, it looks like things are just as we feared: NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey are no longer friends. The Real Housewives of Atlanta stars have been thick as thieves for a long time now, but according to tonight’s April 13 one-on-one between NeNe and Andy Cohen, that friendship contract is now null and void.
Though things seemed to be all good between NeNe and Cynthia when we closed out the season, the Dancing With the Stars contestant says watching episodes back has stirred up some underlying bitter feelings between the two. For one, she says, that “bitch” comment to Cynthia’s hubby Peter Thomas was a major point of conflict.
“We all went to dinner and I apologized, but since then, the show came out and everybody starts putting their opinions and things that happened,” NeNe begins, adding, “Since that ep aired, it brought up old feelings and she stopped calling me and I stopped calling her. When we got to the reunion episode, she started acting like she was an innocent victim.”
But things didn’t stop there, in addition to implying that Cynthia brings nothing to the show, NeNe also shades her as a fair weather friend who isn’t as loyal as she seems.
“I think that Cynthia was my friend, that’s what I thought,” NeNe tells Andy. “I think that Cynthia will blow whichever way the wind blows. When you have a friend and they do something you don’t like, I don’t think you align yourself with the enemy.”
That enemy would be Kenya Moore, who NeNe says Cynthia sticks by during the upcoming reunion episode. “You don’t line yourself with the enemy, to me it says you’re weak… People like to say they’re so loyal.. then why can’t you stand on your own two feet?”
And in case she wasn’t fully clear in her intentions, Linnethia then establishes the following:
“We’re not cool anymore, we’re just not cool anymore.”
