The cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has been filming Season 5 for several months now, and a new face has joined the mix, Atlanta resident Porsha Williams-Stewart.
Bravo confirmed that Porsha and Kenya Moore would be joining the cast earlier this month, and we couldn't be more psyched about their ATL debut.
Read on for four things you need to know about RHoA newbie Porsha Williams-Stewart!
4. She’s Actually a Housewife. From Atlanta.
Even though the show is called The Real Housewives of Atlanta, very few of the ladies are actually currently married Atlanta natives. Porsha, on the other hand, was born and raised in ATL and is married to former NFL player Kordell Stewart. Finally, a true Atlanta housewife!
3. She Comes From a Connected Southern Family
In addition to her dashing good looks, Porsha also has some pretty impressive and important lineage. Her grandfather, the late Hosea Williams, was an influential civil rights leader who was a close confidant of Martin Luther King Jr.
2. She Understands the Importance of Giving Back
Porsha may lead a glamorous life, but this gal also understands how crucial it is to help those that are less fortunate. She supports Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless, a charity started by her famous grandfather that supports the poor and hungry on holidays, and has her own charity — the Kordell and Porsha Stewart Foundation — that’s dedicated to cancer research.
1. She’s a Loving Stepmother
Although Porsha and Kordell have no biological children of their own (yet) Porsha is a devoted stepmother to her stepson, Syre. According to her website, Porsha loves to help Syre with his homework. Aww!
