The latest controversial friend of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Charles Grant, has a pretty checkered past. Aside from rumors of a romantic link to NeNe Leakes while she was still married to her husband Gregg, Charles also has had multiple run-ins with the law.
The former defensive end for the New Orleans Saints was charged with involuntary manslaughter in 2008, following a fight outside a Georgia nightclub that resulted in the deaths of a pregnant woman and her unborn child after the woman was struck with a stray bullet.
Grant has always maintained that he had nothing to go with the fight, and in 2010 all criminal charges were dropped. As part of a plea deal, Grant agreed to plead no contest to a lesser charge of affray (public fighting) and pay $20,000 in restitution to the police department to cover the costs of the investigation.
Charles was arrested on November 28 for writing bad checks.
On November 28, 2011 Grant was arrested for writing bad checks — a felony offense because the amount on the check was over $500.
The upside? Charles and his fiancée Marlo Hampton now have matching mugshots!
