Real Housewives of New York suffered heavy casualties in the casting department before Season 5 started shooting earlier this year. Four of its seven cast members were axed, leaving only Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, and The Countess reppin' the old group.
But could it be that the new girls on the block aren't cutting it? That's what Alex McCord told the Huffington Post.
She revealed, "Before filming began, Bravo and I discussed me making cameos throughout the fifth season. Eventually, I decided against it. I didn't want to be the backup if things didn't work out with any of the new girls."
Because nobody wants to play second fiddle to the new crop of blondes, right?
A Bravo insider denied that Alex had been asked to participate in Season 5, saying instead that nothing past this season was certain, including whether or not the new girls will suffer Cindy Barshop's rookie season fate.
"We are not casting for the next season. We don't even know until this new season airs if there will be another season. I assure you there is no one signed on for any next season," the insider said.
Are you excited to see Ramonja + The Countess (Florence + The Machine's botoxed, tone-deaf alter-ego?) mix with some fresh blood this season? Or will you be too busy mourning Jill, Alex, Cindy, and Kelly's untimely demise?
