Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen were two victims of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York cast overhaul, but, as we found out, this Brooklyn power-couple is showing no signs of slowing down.

Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Simon and Alex at the Sing for the Cause event benefiting the American Cancer Society on Friday, October 14, and Simon had plenty to say about leaving Housewives behind and what’s coming up next for the McCord-van Kempen camp.

Wetpaint Entertainment: Now that you're done with Housewives, any plans to return to Bravo, or TV?

Simon van Kempen: Probably not Bravo. We left on very good terms with Bravo. Tomorrow morning Alex is flying to Atlanta for the Real Housewives Live Tour with other Housewives and she’s the only “fired” Housewife to do the tour. We’ve done four years on TV, but I wouldn’t write us off TV just yet, but it's a bit too early to confirm anything. You never know.

We’re not closing the door on television. But let’s face it: we’re here with the Countess [LuAnn]. She’s staying on Season 5; we’re not. Leaving the show was somewhat bittersweet. There are things about having gone from Housewives that’s a relief. If the rumors are true and they open the door to come back, then, maybe not. But we’re not sad about leaving; the doors are certainly open because we’ve now left and whether it’s with Housewives or with Bravo or another network, that remains to be seen, but we’ll come back on your TV screens sometime in 2012.

Did Andy Cohen or anyone at Bravo offer any info into why you weren't asked to return?

We've certainly met with Andy after we were “fired.” The door isn’t closed there, either from them or from us. We’re not going away.
