If you're wondering why Kandi Burruss would wait nearly four long years to sue Kim Zolciak over the song, "Tardy for the Party," we finally have some insight for you, courtesy of Madame Noire.

Once Kim started speculating that Kandi's timing is nothing more than a publicity stunt, Kandi felt a need to retaliate with an explanation. The singer told Hip Hop Hollywood, "I asked TuneCore to take the song down in December 2012. They did. Kim sent an affidavit to put it back up, which they did. TuneCore then informed me that in order for the song to be taken down permanently I would need to file suit to have it removed."

In other words, Kandi had no choice but to file a lawsuit if she wanted the song to disappear. She went on to say that she really didn't want to go this route, which would explain why she waited until now.

Based on a recent Twitter convo between Kim and Miss Lawrence, Kandi's story regarding the song being removed and put back up does check out.

Regardless, with Kim's new house wrapping up construction and the premiere of her spin-off weeks away, Kandi's timing is awfully suspicious. Not to mention that she filed the suit the day before the Real Housewives of Atlanta met for the Season 5 Reunion!

Do you believe Kandi's explanation, or do you think it's more of an excuse?
