As a hardworking mother of four, Kim Zolciak’s plate is completely full, and now The Real Housewives of Atlanta star is dealing with a very public dispute with her parents. Kim had cut off contact with her parents after an argument at her 2011 wedding to Kroy Biermann, which then led Kim’s mother, Karen, to sue for visitation rights with her grandchildren.
Earlier today, Kim’s father, Joe, put his daughter on blast, calling her a “pathological liar,” and that was Kim’s last straw.
Now, in a statement to Wetpaint Entertainment, Kim’s rep said, “My client is heartbroken and saddened by the derogatory and spiteful statements made by her mother and father, Karen and Joe Zolciak. Mrs. Biermann cannot comprehend for what rational purpose her parents have decided to humiliate their grandchildren's mother in such a public display of hatred and fabrications.”
And not only is Kim deeply hurt by her parent’s behavior, but it also sounds like she’s advocating for them to be fined and/or imprisoned for false statements they had previously made in court about their financial situation.
The statement continues, “It is clear from the pleadings filed by Mrs. Karen Zolciak that by claiming she is indigent she has committed perjury, a felony in Georgia, which holds a sentence of not less than one year of imprisonment but not more than 10 years imprisonment, a $1000.00 fine, or both.”
Kim is also questioning her parents' motives, saying that they’re using this unfortunate situation to generate buzz for their upcoming book about Kim. “This alone should alert everyone that this Grandparent’s visitation lawsuit is for nothing more than publicity to drive up the price of her purported ‘tell all’ book about her daughter,” the statement reads. “Is there nothing more sacred than a parent and child bond, a mother and father’s love and a desire to protect their children? Apparently not for Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zolciak.”
Above all, Kim’s main concern is for her four children, Brielle, 15, Ariana, 11, KJ, 1, and Kash, 4 months.
“Kim and Kroy Biermann have only one concern in this matter and that is to protect their children, which includes protecting them from their grandparents if the grandparents' only desire is to garner unnecessary and unjustified media attention by abusing their grandchildren for their own selfish reasons.”
Needless to say, Kim will not be allowing her parents near any of her children anytime soon. The statement concludes, “Mrs. Biermann cannot fathom why at this time her parents would vilify her in the press and then seek to have Mrs. Biermann to allow visitation. Mr. and Mrs. Biermann are not seeking media attention on this case, this is a personal and private matter, and would ask that the media respect their families’ privacy for the sake of the children.”
