This week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, we saw not one but two ongoing catfights come to an end ... for now.
Sisters Malorie and Cynthia Bailey decided their friendship could benefit from a little distance (or an ocean), while Kim Zolciak and Kandi Burruss opted to ignore the dramz and focus their hate elsewhere.
Cynthia vs. Malorie
The saga of the Bailey Sisters goes back to last year when Malorie tried to sabotage Cynthia's wedding day by hiding the marriage certificate from her.
As a result, things have been understandably rocky between Peter and Mal since the tainted event.
One year has passed and Cynthia and Peter suffered a sad case of déjà vu at their one-year anniversary party. This time around, when Peter jokingly excludes Malorie from his toast to friends and family — which, we admit, was a bit unnecessary — Malorie makes a huge scene by bursting into tears, attacking Cynthia for sticking up for her husband, and storming out of the party.
Finally, Cynthia realizes that she's had enough of her sister meddling in her personal life. Luckily, Malorie is off to France to be with her own husband, just in time for these sibs to get some much-needed distance. Cynthia acknowledges that Mal is her sister and she loves her, but she really doesn't like her very much at the moment.
Does anyone like this woman?
Kim vs. Kandi
Kim and Kandi's tiff, on the other hand, was short-lived and based on total hearsay courtesy of — who else — Sheree Whitfield.
While the women are in South Africa sans Kim, they visit the now infamous orphanage. After a few moments of reflection and feeling good about lighting up the kids' lives for a little while, the ladies revert back to their old gossipy selves. Since Kim was thousands of miles away, she was the perfect target.
The mess got started when Cynthia commented that she couldn't picture Kim at the orphanage holding black babies. Oh, boy. Things escalated when Kandi kinda-sorta agreed, although her exact wording was that she couldn't picture Kim in Africa at all.
Later that night, the Smalls called Kim to say hello, and Sheree blabbed about the conversation. Naturally, Kim was super pissed at Kandi and confronted her about what she said once they were back in Atlanta. With Sheree present, there was a lot of screaming and not a whole lot of resolving.
This week, Kim invited Kandi over to clear the air, just the two of them. Kandi admitted she didn't see Kim in Africa, but made it clear that she never said anything that would imply that Kim is racist... that would have been Cynthia.
In the end, the two ladies were friends again and Kim had a new enemy: Cynthia.
