This week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, we finally closed the chapter on the holding black babies scandal (we hope) when Kim Zolciak confronted the woman who started all: Cynthia Bailey. Here's how things went down.

The Deets

If you don't know the background of this ongoing saga, we're pretty sure you've got some catching up to do on Season 4. In a nutshell, the women went to an orphanage in South Africa, Cynthia said she couldn't picture Kim holding babies at said orphanage, Kandi Burrussagreed, Sheree Whitfield informed Kim, and the baby poop hit the fan.

At first, Kim was more pissed at Kandi than anything else since the two are supposed to be friends and all. After having it out with Kandi, however, Kim decided to make amends with her pal and focus her hate on the root of the problem, Cynthia.

As it happens, Kim and Cynthia were the only Housewives that attended Phaedra Parks' dedication event for Ayden, and — what do you know — they were seated at the same table. Not wanting to make a scene at a baby-themed party like some other people (ahem, Peter at Kim's shower), Kim actually behaved herself during dinner and held her tongue, despite Cynthia's multiple mentions of the trip.

Once the women stepped outside, however, Kim decided to confront Cynthia in the church parking lot. Naturally, Cynthia denied that she ever said anything about "black babies." She did admit to the cameras that she didn't remember what she said, but a flashback confirmed that she in fact did not say "black babies" — she said "African babies." Oh wait... kinda the same thing.

Just as we were waiting for a wig to get pulled or a neck to get threatened, Cynthia took the high road and apologized. She didn't mean it, it was a joke, and it wasn't funny. Kim was caught off guard for a moment — not surprising, considering her usual brawling mate is relentless in-your-face NeNe Leakes — but she also acted like a grown lady, accepted Cynthia's apology, and sealed it with a hug.

The Winner

Both. We definitely would have given this one to Kim, had Cynthia kept denying the accusations, but we gotta hand it to her for owning up to her verbal mistakes. Really, the only loser here was Bravo — after all, women talking things out and hugging doesn’t exactly bring in the ratings. Thank goodness for Marlo Hampton.
