It's time for our weekly dose of insanity — here's what went down with on Season 5, Episode 16 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Let's do this!
The evening begins with some much-needed NeNe Leakes airtime, as she prepares her Hollywood home for her upcoming dinner party with the Hotlanta ladies. The table is set, the caterer is scheduled, and the rows and rows of wine are ready to be poured. Both Gregg and NeNe are pretty excited about the evening, and we gotta say, they are pretty cute playing house together.
The only concern is that things are still tense between Kenya Moore and Phaedra Parks, though NeNe feels confident that they will stay out of each other's way, which she demonstrates with the use of some spot-on impersonations. We're starting to think she will get that Oscar one of these days after all.
Meanwhile, the ladies arrive in one piece, except for Phaedra who misses her flight and will have to join them later. The only problem is that their big-ass limo is too long to make it up the windy, narrow streets on the hill. The driver suggests they walk up. Uh, yeah, that's not gonna happen with any of these women — not with those shoes and definitely not with the insane amount of luggage they're toting.
After a quick phone call, NeNe drives down to pick them up and chauffeurs them to their accommodations for the trip — not at her house, mind you. Ultra modern and luxe, the apartment rental NeNe arranged comes with a jacuzzi, fire pit, and sexy white furniture. She welcomes them with a champagne toast and reminds them about that evening's dinner.
Jet-lagged and exhausted, the girls are not feeling the party at all, but they make the effort to go anyway. Unfortunately, they kinda forgot about the time difference and showed up at 12 p.m. instead of 9 p.m.. Oops. And guess what? NeNe is PISSED. Shocker.
Despite NeNe's rage, the women start acting delirious trying to hug her and get in the house anyway. In the end, they don't get past the front door, but Gregg does bring them an antipasto tray for the road. Awkward, but at least the women bonded over the situation on the ride back home, after a quick stop at Fat Burger, of course.
The next morning, Kenya gets up mad early to make a huge breakfast in an effort to keep the girls on schedule. The women are seemingly getting along, while talking smack about each other to the cameras. In other words, the usual.
For today's activity, they are headed to the Groundlings to attempt some improv acting, which apparently involves rocking chicken dance arms and woot-wooting. And even though NeNe is still fuming over the prior evening, she decides to let it go and show up... an hour late, as they are wrapping up the session. Don't worry, girl — you didn't miss much.
Later, NeNe takes them on a tour of the studio lot and shows off her trailer, which is kinda awesome. After, they go out to a fancy schmancy restaurant where NeNe proves that she's clearly a VIP these days. The conversation goes from speculation over Porsha Stewart being preggo because she's not drinking, to Kim Zolciak stealing Kandi's baby name, to the infamous booty videos. Kenya shares the name of her upcoming DVD, but Phaedra chooses to stay mum to avoid Kenya stealing anything else from her. Honey, we don't blame you.
Even more awkward, Kenya reveals that she broke up with Walter, and Porsha mentions what a great time her ex had at her party. The women shift in their chairs uncomfortably as the crazy takes over Kenya's eyes, right before she storms out. NeNe goes after her and tries to calm her down. Kenya lets her know exactly how she feels about Phaedra and Porsha, and promises that Vegas won't be pretty.
We're counting on it! Are you as psyched as we are for the ladies to hit Vegas?
