Cooking a turkey is stressful enough, but now imagine doing it for your new boyfriend’s mom and about 40 other relatives and friends. That’s exactly what The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss is doing this year, throwing a blowout Thanksgiving dinner at the new Atlanta home she and beau Todd Tucker recently moved into.
“It’s going to be a big, extended family celebration,” a friend of Kandi’s tells Wetpaint Entertainment. “Both Kandi’s mom and Todd’s mom will be there. They’ve met before — you’ll actually see their first meeting later this season. But it’s not going to be a small affair. We’re talking at least 30 to 40 people, maybe more.”
“Kandi will be cooking, although she’s obviously going to have some help with a group this size,” the insider adds. “She’s excited, but nervous. She wants everything to turn out perfectly.”
After the big meal on Thursday, she’s looking forward to just kicking back for the rest of the weekend. “This is her first real break in a while,” the insider explains. “She went straight from filming Housewives to shooting the Kandi Factory. She’s happy to finally have a little time off.”
Enjoy it, Kandi! You deserve it.
