Vicki Gunvalson has had a rough start to summer, thanks to complications with her newest side business.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star and boyfriend Brooks Ayers are being sued by Robert Williamson III, who says the couple cheated him out of more than $250,000. Robert invested money in Vicki’s Vodka, but he alleges Vicki and Brooks conspired to get additional money out of him for their own personal gain.
Now, Vicki herself is speaking out about the legal battle.
“Regarding the recent lawsuit that was filed regarding ‘Vicki’s Vodka,’ my attorney will be filing a response to the frivolous suit within the next day or so,” Vicki Gunvalson wrote on her Facebook page. “This response will reveal my side of the story and the lack of truth that was told. There will be more details to follow shortly. Thank you for your support. The truth always prevails.”
The lawsuit alleges Vicki gifted 16.67 percent of ownership in Vicki’s Vodka to Brooks without informing Robert. In turn, Brooks offered to sell his share of the business to Robert for $50,000 to pay off delinquent IRS and child support payments. New documents obtained by Radar Online show there was also a “forgiveness” of a $5,000 debt Brooks owed to Robert and $3,000 in expenses from the Kentucky Derby.
After Brooks sold his share, Vicki reportedly demanded ownership of the company revert back to 50/50 with her and Robert, despite the fact she allegedly also profited from Brooks’s deal with Robert. When he refused, Vicki reportedly exhibited a “total lack of co-operation” to help make Vicki’s Vodka successful.
Despite the drama over her vodka company, Vicki’s business partner in Wines by Wives has total confidence she’ll bounce back from the ordeal.
“Wines by Wives is not affected,” Chris Gravagna told Wetpaint Entertainment. “We’re fine. It has not changed. We’re in a good place. I’m ultra-supportive of Vicki.”
