Of all the Real Housewives of Orange County stars, the one most likely to be found strutting her stuff in a bikini is Gretchen Rossi. And who could blame her? The blonde bombshell has a physique to die for, and style to boot.

So it’s no surprise Gretchen’s most recent business venture centers on swimwear. Collaborating with designer Lisa Vogel, she created Gretchen Christine for LUXE. Business has been going so well one of her popular designs has already sold out.

Wetpaint Entertainment was lucky enough to chat up Gretchen at SwimSpot in Santa Monica, California, where she held a meet and greet with Lisa Vogel to celebrate her swimwear line. We got the scoop on how Gretchen’s swimwear line got started, and what she does to maintain her amazing bikini body!

Wetpaint Entertainment: I was looking at your swimsuit line. They're really cute. How did this come about?

Gretchen Rossi: Lisa and I met at a fashion show, and she was actually showing her bikinis. And I was showing my handbags, and actually, her models were walking down the runway with my handbags and the bikini. We both admire just each other's fashion lines, and we were super excited about meeting each other. We were like, instant friends, and then we started talking about business. We started talking about how I have always just loved swimwear, and it's something I always wanted to get into. And then you could see the wheels spinning in her head.

So then she reached out to me, and she said, "I'd love to do a collaboration with you," and I was obviously thrilled. And so that's how we created Gretchen Christine for LUXE, because she has her line, and then what we basically did is took a lot of her silhouettes from the LUXE line and “Gretchenized” it. Is that a word?  We added the Gretchen Christine touches to it with the bling and the embellishments and just really made it with the fun bright colors and with the nude mesh. I actually wore a suit last summer in Vegas. I was doing an appearance. I had it made. It's like a costume type suit, and it just got rave reviews by all of the fans, and a lot of my customers at Gretchen Christine said, "Where can we get that suit?"

When we did this collaboration, the first thing I said was, "We've got to do a suit like this for the masses because everyone loves it." Well, lo and behold, that's the first suit that blew out like this. We sold out nationally in a couple days.

I heard that you both came in with ideas of a nude bathing suit, her with pictures of Britney Spears in the body suit.

Is that not wild that we both were on that exact same page?  Just goes to show why it was such a great collaboration because immediately, we're on the same wave length. We have the same business acumen. So it's easy to work with somebody when you both are hard workers, and you both know what it takes to make something happen and go all the way to production. And it takes time and energy to make these things happen.

And your body, by the way is amazing. What do you do?  Where's the time?

You know, I don't have the time, so this is why I really find time throughout the day to do it. For instance, I'm literally, watching a TV show, and I'm like, okay. Drop and give me 20. That's what I have to tell myself. I'm like, okay. I just need to sit down, and I need to do my 20 sit ups, not 20, more like a hundred. My 20 push-ups, and I literally have weights all around my house. When I'm cooking dinner, I'm like, stirring the pot, and I'm like, and one, and two. And it's funny I travel so much for work, I literally am picking up the lamp on the side of the bed, and I'm like, doing my bicep curls. I swear to God, people think I'm crazy. But there's so many things you can do with your own body weight, and that you can figure out little exercise routines to do just when you're on the go.

Really, it's just about moderation. I eat like crazy. I love food. I graze all day long. I eat every two, three hours. Not big meals, but little things, and I don't deprive myself of anything. And I think that was the key to my success in staying in shape and looking good was the second that I stopped giving myself such a hard time about what I'm eating, and I just enjoyed life a little bit more and had little bits and pieces of things, I'm in the happiest and the best of shape of my life.
