Real Housewives of Orange County stars Heather Dubrow and Gretchen Rossi have been bickering quite a bit this season about whether Gretchen was lying when she said she got a role on Malibu Country. So if you've been waiting patiently for someone from the now-defunct ABC sitcom to just let us know which of them is telling the truth, you're finally getting your wish!
The controversy revved back up on last night's Reunion Part 2, with Heather claiming that Gretchen misrepresented her job status with the sitcom. Gretchen maintains that she was indeed under the impression she would be on the show, and she even played a voicemail from her agent in order to prove her point. It looks like hanging onto old voicemails can pay off!
Actress Sara Rue starred on Malibu Country for its one and only season, playing Kim, the trophy-wife neighbor of the main character, played by country star Reba McEntire. Now, Sara has taken to Twitter to weigh in on the drama between Gretchen and Heather.
On August 19, Sara tweeted:
So it looks like at least one Malibu Country cast member is on Team Heather. And a member of the sitcom's writing staff responded to Sara's tweet, expressing surprise that the show had become such a point of contention for the Housewives.
"I had NO idea this became such a controversy!" Malibu Country writer Aaron Serna tweeted at Sara. "[Heather] knocked it outta the park either way, loved having her!"
So will this response from the show itself helped to put an end to the tension between Gretchen and Heather? We certainly hope so, but we won't be holding our breath.
