World, prepare yourselves for a softer, gentler Tamra Barney. Sure the blonde spitfire is known for raising hell and making scenes on The Real Housewives of Orange County, but we’re about to see a different side of her as she prepares to marry fiancé Eddie Judge in Bravo’s three-part wedding spinoff, Tamra’s OC Wedding.
This set of nuptials, however, doesn’t go down drama-free. As we’ve seen in the previews, not only do Tamra and Eddie have their own share of meltdowns, they’re also forced to deal with some tense family moments. Tamra opened up to Wetpaint Entertainment about how they survived the pre-wedding stress.
Now that you and Eddie are married, you’ve said things feel different. How so?
We both just feel more of a connection. We keep looking at each other and saying ‘We’re really married.’ Everything’s just more emotional and much deeper.
You have so much on your plate. You and Eddie opened C.U.T. Fitness, you have your cachaca brand, Cuca Fresca, you film RHOC and you have four kids. How did you even find time to plan a wedding?
Well that was the most stressful thing, just finding the time. That was one of Eddie’s biggest concerns when it came time to talk about the wedding: do we really have time to do this? It was a rough year in that I went to filming Housewives to this with no break plus C.U.T. and everything else. But in the end, it all worked out.
And then you ended up pulling it off in just six weeks!
Right. I’ve wanted to get married at the St. Regis for like a year. But they’re booked really far in advance. So when I found out they had an opening, I said let’s go for it. The only problem was, that gave us about five to six weeks to plan.
In the previews, we see you and Eddie share some tense moments and there’s drama with your families as well. Did things ever get so bad that you thought maybe getting married isn’t the right move for us?
No, not at all. We definitely had our share of ‘What were you thinking?’ moments, but nothing would ever be that bad that we’d say I don’t want to marry you.
I have to say, you seem so much more mellow than when we talk to you about RHOC. Was filming your wedding spinoff a much different experience?
You know, there’s a lot of drama that goes along with filming Housewives – we’re really expected to bring it. But this, I wanted it to be special. I didn’t want anyone yelling or screaming at my wedding. I wanted it to be special…and it was.
