LeAnn Rimes and her husband, Brandi Glanville’s ex, Eddie Cibrian were witness to a tragic plane crash at Aspen Airport in Colorado over the weekend.
While waiting for her own flight, the country singer watched as a private jet exploded into flames while attempting to land. According to the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office, at least one person is dead and two others are injured. The plane, which had three people on board, was coming from Mexico but had made one stop in Tucson, Arizona before attempting to land in Colorado.
“So sad!” LeAnn wrote on Twitter. “Horrible plane crash we just saw happen at the Aspen airport.”
LeAnn, Eddie, and Eddie’s two sons were returning from a week of skiing and celebrating the new year in Aspen.
“This has been quite a day,” LeAnn tweeted at the end of the day. Counting our blessings even more so after seeing a tragedy & driving 7 hrs to Denver through tons of snow and traffic. Would have missed our flight if it wasn't delayed. We are being watched over, that's for sure. The boys have been fantastic helpers. Eddie is a stud for getting us through a VERY crowded airport with ease. @united your team in Denver was incredibly helpful as I know they were all very stressed. Hope all the other travelers make it home safely and many prayers for the victims & their families of the #aspencrash in this heartbreaking time.”
Actor and comedian Kevin Nealon also witnessed the fiery crash and turned to Twitter to spread the news.
“Horrible plane crash here at Aspen airport,” he wrote. “Exploded into flames as it was landing. I think it was a private jet… Airport is closed now. I think I’ll drive back to LA after seeing that.”
