It’s the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 4 Reunion Part 1, and the tension is already off the charts! It’s time for our recap, as we find out which of the ladies seem close to patching things up — and which ones seem to have never disliked each other more.
The Valley Or Not the Valley?
The episode kicks off with Lisa Vanderpump confronting Brandi Glanville about saying that Lisa supposedly had been bankrupt and lived “deep” in the Valley. Lisa denies both claims, and then a long debate ensues over whether Calabasas is or is not considered the Valley. Where is Calabasas resident Justin Bieber to clear things up when we need him?
Brandi and Lisa move on to other issues, with Lisa saying she hasn’t always found Brandi’s quips funny, like Brandi saying Ken was close to death. And though Brandi says she and Lisa are the same, Lisa is quick to point out that they have the same sense of humor but not the same personality.
Next, Kyle says that she and Kim have never been closer, as she didn’t realize Kim could be so “kooky.” Kim defends her choice to pray by the trash can in Palm Springs and says she has been dating but isn’t currently getting serious with anyone. Just so long as Kim’s next boyfriend is better than her ex-boyfriend Ken, we’re happy.
On Thin Ice
Brandi and Joyce go at it, as each try to explain what really happened with “Hairgate.” Joyce calls Brandi out for insulting her husband, pointing out that she’s seen pics of Brandi getting cozy with “ugly” guys. Ouch. Then, Brandi calls Joyce a figure skater… for some reason. Uh, isn’t it kind of a compliment to be called a figure skater? Finally, Brandi apologizes for saying Joyce was a “black person.”
It’s back to Brandi and Lisa, as Brandi says Lisa would turn into her mother when the cameras were rolling. Brandi didn’t understand why Lisa called her out for her drinking on-camera when Lisa would often drink late into the night with her.
The World’s Most Graceful Faint
Joyce insults Yolanda for her heart drawings at the dinner party, and the Yolanda fires right back, saying she’d hate to be married to Joyce. Kyle says she was hurt by Lisa’s comment that Kyle is only friendly with people so Mauricio can sell their house, so Lisa apologizes. Then, the ladies wonder whether Lisa can take a joke, given her sensitivity about her faint.
Another rift that appears to be making baby steps toward being put in the past is Yolanda Foster and Lisa’s. They still aren’t seeing eye-to-eye, but Lisa says she wouldn’t want Yolanda to feel that she was abandoning her while she was sick. We doubt Lisa and Yolanda will ever be besties, but this is a start.
Our Overall Thoughts
This was definitely a tense reunion episode, although we have a feeling that the even bigger arguments are still to come in the remaining two episodes. Brandi and Lisa definitely have major issues, but the fact that they can occasionally still laugh together is a good sign.
Meanwhile, it looks like Joyce and Brandi will never be friends. Like, not ever. And we’re proud of Lisa for apologizing to Kyle for her joke.
Now, we can’t wait for next week’s installment of the reunion. If anyone needs us, we’ll be hanging out in Calabasas.
