We’re on a bit of a NeNe Leakes rollercoaster these days. The Real Housewives of Atlanta fav sent everyone into a tizzy last week when she wrote an ominous tweet, appearing to announce her resignation from the reality show. But then she appeared at the Bravo Upfronts and all seemed to be well. Now, the OG Hotlanta gal is setting the record straight on her Season 7 status.

NeNe spoke with Naught But Nice Rob on the Upfronts red carpet late last week, where she was put on the spot about whether she was leaving the show after six seasons.

“I will still work for Bravo,” NeNe began, hedging the question at first. But then she clarified, “I’m happy to stay on. We just need to work out some things. I’m happy to do some things. I don’t know if I’m happy to be a full time Housewife.”

In other words, are we only going to be seeing NeNe as a “Friend of the Housewives”? Sounds like she may be opting for the LuAnn de Lesseps-Kathy Wakile treatment, and relegating herself to only showing up in some scenes. But who would Kenya Moore feud with? Oh wait, everyone else…

Many viewers have been murmuring that NeNe has seemed “over” the reality show recently, acting like she’s moved beyond that with her acting roles on Glee and The New Normal. Rob also took her to task about that, asking if she thinks she’s “outgrown” the Real Housewives.

“I wouldn’t say outgrown because people would want to throw eggs at me,” NeNe detailed. “I would just say that I have grown and I’m at a different place in my life and I personally don’t want to go to work everyday where you have to be negative. When I wake up every morning and I go off to be negative it just feels like it spills over into my regular life. You become what you work with.”

That seems fair. She has been putting everything, good and bad, out there for six years now. Whatever you decide NeNe, don’t be a stranger!
