He might have moved to California for Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson, but Brooks Ayers will not stand for the suggestion that he ran out on his kids. According to Radar Online, Brooks, who’s said he intends to sue ABC’s 20/20 over their “Deadbeat Dad” story on him, claims that the show was wrong on several counts.
In the original story, Brooks’s ex-girlfriend Nicolette Catanzarite accused him of “bailing” on their three-year-old son’s pediatric and hospital bills. Brooks’s lawyer, Alexander Rufus-Isaacs, tells Radar, “Brooks is very close with his three children from his marriage, and he is very keen to have a relationship with his son, but Nicolette won’t allow him access for the time being.”
Rufus-Isaacs further accuses of Nicolette of misrepresenting the facts, saying, “She has said she doesn't know how to get hold of him, which is not true. She traveled to California in January 2012 and met with Brooks and Vicki, since then he has had the same cell phone number and the same e-mail, so there is no credence to these claims that he disappeared on her."
Brooks has yet to file suit against ABC but has reportedly demanded a retraction with a threat to sue.
