After Paul Nassif formally filed for divorce from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof in a Los Angeles court yesterday, he released a statement to TMZ which said that he and Adrienne “tried very hard to make [their] marriage work” but decided divorce is “the best course for both” parties involved. Paul, whose father had just passed away, filed for divorce from Adrienne after a month of separation, citing irreconcilable differences between the two and requesting joint custody of their three sons.
TMZ’s report on the news indicates that he fully acknowledged the prenuptial agreement existent between them — which serves to protect Adrienne’s vast family wealth, including their ownership of the NBA Sacramento Kings team and the Las Vegas Palms Resort — in his petition and that Adrienne ultimately declined to file her own petition for divorce from Paul.
A new report from Radar Online, however, claims that it was Adrienne’s brothers who pushed for her to divorce Paul. Reportedly believing that a prolonged separation would give Paul a chance at their familial fortune, a source stated that Adrienne’s four brothers didn’t like Paul and encouraged her to end the marriage quickly.
Just last week, Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively confirmed the possibility that Adrienne and her brothers may be getting a spinoff show with NBC chronicling their lavish lifestyle, but a source explained to us, “It’s not a done a deal… It’s still in the early stages. Nothing has been finalized or signed on the dotted line.”
