Remember when former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dana Wilkey made her grand entrance onto the show by parading around her $25,000 sunglasses? Of course you do. It had us all talking.
Well, as promised, her first music single has officially dropped, and the subject of the song is — what else? — the cost of those shades.
Wilkey’s debuted “25,000 on On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “I feel like it’s now become a pop culture funny thing that happened on the show and I wanted people to know that I am laughing at myself as much as they’re laughing at me,” she told Seacrest this morning.
The lyrics for “25,000” are basically a run-down of all the designers she can afford and flaunting her gobs of jewelry: She sings that she’s “got more carats than Bugs Bunny.” Dana’s clearly trying to be amusing, but considering the economic climate, maybe this isn’t the best time to be bragging about your bling?
This isn’t the first time one of the Real Housewives took a turn at the mic. Countess LuAnn De Lesseps’s “Chic, C’est La Vie” dropped last summer, but that was before Occupy Wall Street and didn’t include lyrics about having money to burn.
To paraphrase another LuAnn song, money can’t buy you tact…
