Gretchen Rossi revealed her vulnerable side in Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8, Episode 6, when cameras captured her breaking down during a tense moment with fiancé Slade Smiley. The couple had just been in New York City visiting Slade’s son Grayson, who underwent major brain surgery, and emotions were definitely running high.

While Gretchen doesn’t regret filming the intimate moment, she was surprised at all of the criticism surrounding her talk with Slade about having kids of their own.

Taking to her Bravo blog, Gretchen Rossi wrote, “So for all the haters out there who are claiming that I am being selfish in this moment: first off what show are you watching and second you can suck it! Even Slade himself said I was being unselfish because I stopped talking about it and hadn’t brought it up since things went bad with Gray. I swear sometimes you just cannot win.”

She admitted it’s been difficult for her and Slade to balance caring for Grayson while trying to start a family of their own. But ultimately, Gretchen believes the hardships simply make their relationship stronger.

Moving on to other parts of the episode, Gretchen had a bone to pick with Lydia McLaughlin, especially when it came to Lydia’s relationship with her formerly pot-smoking mother.

“I thought it was interesting that Lydia herself admitted that she is judgmental and that her mom concurred, because I actually felt very pre-judged by Lydia most of the season and I think that might have been part of the reason we didn’t really connect,” Gretchen wrote.

She also questioned why it’s acceptable for Lydia to criticize Alexis Bellino when Gretchen is labeled a “bully” for saying similar things.

“Was it because Alexis and I were so close that it was too hard to hear from me and easier to blame me as a supposed bad friend than to do some self reflection?” Gretchen pondered.

We may never know the answer to that, but Gretchen did hint that she and Lydia will confront their issues head on in Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8. We can’t wait!
