Another day, another juicy piece of drama pertaining to former Real Housewives of D.C. stars Michaele and Tareq Salahi. This time, Tareq Salahi’s acquaintance is alleging he’s made money from interviews he’s been paid to give about the couple’s impending divorce.
According to The Huffington Post, Tareq pulled in $100,000 by talking to the press about his split from wife Michaele, who left him after 8 years of wedded bliss for Journey frontman Neal Schon back in September.
A source close to Tareq told HuffPo it was Tareq’s plan to make money off the split from day one: “Tareq was the controlling and the calculating one. Everyone close to Michaele is very happy she got away from him." Reportedly, Tareq handled all the couple’s finances and business deals and “would do anything for money,” said the source. However, Tareq was desperately in need of cash when Michaele went MIA. With no source of income, he put his own divorce documents in the press so he could book some paid interviews, the source claims.
As for Tareq’s side of the story, he denies the allegations and calls his wife “calculating and devious.” He believes she’s the one selling interviews, and he just wants to move on. Is it too soon to quote Journey? Oh well. “Don’t Stop Believin’,” Traeq.
