If you’re a Lisa Vanderpump fan — and come on, if you aren’t, what’s wrong with you? — then you know she’s got a way with words. And since the Housewives are known for expanding their empires in every way imaginable — fashion lines, ill-advised musical dabblings, low-cal alcoholic beverages — we had to know if Lisa, like Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Kyle Richards, had a book in the works. Well, praise be to the reality TV gods: she does!

The book, currently titled Simply Divine, will focus on entertaining and cooking, but will it have that signature Vanderpump wit we adore so much? “I don’t think I’m funny!” insisted the oh-so-modest Lisa when we talked to her at the 2011 TCA Summer Press Tour. “I just say what comes into my mind, and I do see the funny sides of things. But my book is all about entertaining and recipes, and also my take on life.” We’re thinking a sassier, more fabulous Martha Stewart.

We can’t wait to get our hands on Lisa’s guide to life — even if we can’t afford to entertain like a Beverly Hills housewife. But expect a good dose of realness as well: Lisa says much of Simply Divine will be about her experiences as a mother and wife. When we asked if book-Lisa will toss out the bon mots as freely as TV-Lisa, she said with a wry smile, “I don't think it's that humorous, really. But of course, I wrote it. So maybe someone else will.” Someone else, as in, us? Call us crazy, but we expect Simply Divine will be nothing less than an endlessly quotable gem.
