Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump’s own spin-off, Vanderpump Rules, is set to premiere on January 7 on Bravo. Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the restaurateur at a launch party for the new show on December 10, where she talked about Season 3’s feud between Adrienne Maloof and Brandi Glanville, as well as how Taylor Armstrong has been handling her sobriety.
Who do you think is right between Adrienne [Maloof] and Brandi?
Oh you have to watch that I can’t possibly give that away. You haven’t even watched tonight. No, the jury is out tonight on that because it will ruin it and it’s not that easily solved. If it was that easily solved then you know, no. Brandi is very honest and sometimes honest to a fault, so we’ll see how that plays out.
Do you agree with Faye in that you get Brandi riled up to fight your battles for you?
Oh, who? Well I think if that’s how she perceives it then that’s up to her. But I think the audience has seen me for 75 episodes; they know I’m not somebody who stands there trying to stir it up, if anything I’m trying to quiet it down. I think you saw me last week with Brandi saying,’No, no, no you can’t say that; you go back in there and you make it better.’ So if that’s her interpretation, then let her call it how she sees it but she obviously doesn’t see it very clearly.
What did you mean to convey to Taylor in the clip we saw of you in Ojai [when you confront her about her drinking]?
Well at that time, I was being just very honest with her but in the kindest way I could. It’s not like she denied it. She said, ‘Yes, you’re right. I have good days and bad days.’ I’m supportive of Taylor and I think it’s a difficult journey, but I absolutely support her and we’ve seen little snippets here and there where she hasn’t handled it very well and she is the first to admit it. I think that’s the great thing about Taylor is she puts her hand up and says, ‘Yeah I’ve called it wrong. I’ve done it and I’m trying to sort my life out.’ So she’s probably doing a better job now.
