It was only a matter of time before Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Taylor Armstrong reached out to Rihanna. The pop singer was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009. Brown received five years probation for the incident. In recent weeks, the 24-year-old singer controversially collaborated with her ex on two different singles, “Birthday Cake (Remix)” and “Turn up the Music.”

An outspoken victim of alleged abuse herself, Taylor shared a few words of warning in the new issue of Life & Style."If someone has slapped you, shoved you or pushed you, things will always escalate. They don't get better — they get worse — unless some type of intervention is done via therapy or separation,” the reality star says.

Previously, Taylor told HLN it wasn’t dangerous for the two ex-lovers to collaborate — provided he’d gone through counseling. Now, the bestselling author of Hiding From Reality reveals she hopes that both Rihanna and Chris will use this opportunity to come clean about the trials of their relationship.

"I hope they'll make a statement about what transpired over the past three years that makes it safe for them to be around each other now," the blonde beauty tells L&S.

However, Taylor thinks it’s Chris’ responsibility to act first and admit he’s in the wrong. “This is a real opportunity for him to step up and be a man,” says the Bravo star.

Considering how he’s reacted to his haters before, Chris doesn’t seem likely to follow Taylor’s advice.
