We didn’t think things could get much worse for ex-Real Housewives of D.C. star Tareq Salahi, but oh, how wrong we were! First, Tareq’s wife, Michaele, left him for another man, and now he’s going to court for the second time in a year. Why? Well, let’s just say Micahele wasn’t the only one cheating last year!
Maybe it’s a case of bad karma. Tareq tried to sue his estranged wife and her lover, Journey’s Neal Schon, for $50 million for public humiliation back in February, but now it’s Tareq who’s getting served.
The Huffington Post reports that Virginia’s attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, has filed a lawsuit against the White House party crasher, claiming Salahi defrauded customers who bought wine tours off his website, VirginiaWineTour.com. This is the second time this year Cuccinelli has gone after Salahi for his business practices.
According to the new lawsuit, Tareq’s companies Virginia Wine Tourism Inc. and Celebration Entertainment Productions LLC swindled customers out of money for wine tours that never happened and promised refunds that were never returned. Salahi also allegedly falsely listed several big name companies — United Airlines, for one — on the tour website as “official partners.”
Evidently, several unsatisfied customers filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau. Some reported that tours were cancelled with short notice due to a “vehicle malfunction,” while others complained they were taken on the wrong tour or in the wrong vehicle. And still others claim they asked for refunds — some consented in writing — that were never given.
If Cuccinelli gets his way, Tareq could end up shelling over up to $2,5000 for each complaint. He also wants VirgniaWineTour.com to issue refunds to those whom the court finds were defrauded.
The lesson? Cheaters never prosper. Unless, well, they do.
