Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein is suing a woman accused her of being “an escort who also did soft porn in Vegas” in a comment on an entertainment news site.  The commenter, Jessica Lederman, posted the remark on an article about Lisa becoming a new member of the Real Housewives of Miami cast.

Somehow, Lisa found out about the comment and . Although millions of people make nasty comments about each other, and celebrities, every day, Lisa apparently felt this was going to far. She decided to file a lawsuit against the woman for “severe emotional distress,” claiming the comments damaged her reputation, according to TMZ.

In the suit, Lisa also says the comments could damage her social life and threaten her employment. She’s asked a judge for more than $15,000 in damages against the random commenter.

Let’s emphasize, again, that the woman being sued her is not even a writer, a blogger, or anyone particularly noteworthy -- as far as we are aware. She simply appears to have made a snarky, accusatory comment against Lisa in a public comments area on an entertainment site. Perhaps she has a personal, private vendetta against Lisa that hasn’t yet come to light. Or maybe she just doesn’t like her for some random, unknown reason.

If the judge should rule against Jessica Lederman and make her pay up for saying nasty things about Lisa Hochstein online, would it make you think twice posting something negative online about a celebrity in the future?
