RHoBH Casting Rumors: Is Bravo Adding Vanessa Bryant and Lisa Gastineau in Season 3?
Everybody has their own ideas about which Beverly Hills beauties they want to see on the still unannounced Season 3 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Amidst swirling rumors that Taylor Armstrong and Camille Grammer are on the chopping block, The Huffington Post is reporting the names of two potential new cast mates: Vanessa Bryant and Lisa Gastineau.
If Vanessa’s name rings a bell, it’s because she’s the estranged wife of LA Lakers player Kobe Bryant. Vanessa filed for divorce on December 17, 2011, citing irreconcilable differences. The basketballer and his ex have been embroiled in a heated media war ever since. Another reality show, Basketball Wives, also reportedly wants Vanessa added to their lineup, and VH1 is trying to woo her with a sweet contract. But let’s be real: For women divorcing basketball legends with no prenup, money so isn’t an issue.
Having gone through something similar with Camille Grammer, Bravo must think Vanessa’s public divorce drama will make for great TV — and they’re probably right. Plus, it's said Vanessa is notorious for not getting along with the other Laker wives — or women in general. Sounds like she’d fit right in! As one insider told HuffPo, freshly single Vanessa “would make a great addition” to the already catty and theatrical line-up.
As for the other candidate for Housewives stardom, Lisa Gastineau is no stranger to reality TV: she starred with her daughter, Brittny, on the short-lived E! show, Gastineau Girls, from 2005 to 2006.
According to the insider, producers want the hard-working mom because she’s the polar opposite of Vanessa, though she was also married to a professional athlete — NFL player Mark Gastineau. Since her 1991 divorce, she’s rumored to have played the field with Sylvester Stallone, Billy Idol, and — get this — mobster John Gotti.
It’s interesting that Gastineau has been linked to Sly Stallone. His wife, Jennifer Flavin, was rumored to be joining the RHoBH cast in Season 2. Let’s take this latest casting news with a big ol’ pinch of salt, shall we?
