Between “hiding” in a suitcase in Aspen and exploding into a fit of hysteria at Brandi Glanville’s Malibu Beach party, Taylor Armstrong had her fair share of troubling moments on Season 2 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But in a new interview with Discover San Diego, the blonde beauty says she’s okay with that. Mostly.
In her interview, Taylor talked about her friendships with her cast mates off-camera (she says she sees Kyle Richards the most), her memoir Hiding From Reality, and whether she was accurately portrayed this season. Shocker? She thinks she was!
Taylor admits, ”I was just such a mess this last year, I really was just falling apart and I wasn’t able to keep everything that was going on in my personal life under wraps any longer.” The 40-year-old Housewife adds, “I feel like unfortunately that was an accurate portrayal of the state I was in [at the time].” But Taylor prefers the Season 2 version of herself to the one from RHoBH’s first season.
“In Season 1 I was just putting on a façade of who I thought people wanted to see, instead of really letting them into my life,” she says. “Now that my life is just an open book, it’s a much better place to be.”
In fact, it was watching herself on Season 1 that really showed Taylor how troubled her relationship with husband Russell was — she alleges he was physically abusive. “When I watched Season 1 of the show, I really didn’t like me, and I was just a shell of myself. I was trying to keep so much of my personal life off television... And that was a real wake-up call, to see how much of myself I had lost in my relationship,” she says.
Nowadays, she slowly rebuilding her life, and if she returns to RHoBH, Season 3 Taylor will likely be the best one yet.
