As she’s already said numerous times, Scheana Marie — actress, singer, model and waitress at Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant SUR — feels awful about unknowingly carrying on an affair with Eddie Cibrian while he was still married to Brandi Glanville. But on the January 7 two-hour episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she finally gets to tell Brandi in person. Yep, for the first time, Brandi and the other woman (well, one of them, anyway) come face to face.
In an exclusive interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, Scheana opens up about the difficult talk with Brand and dishes the dirt about Bravo’s new spinoff, Vanderpump Rules, that takes place at SUR — the Sexy, Unique, Restaurant she and her friends (or is it frenemies?) all work at!
Wetpaint Entertainment: The entire time you and Eddie dated, he never told you he was married. When you finally found out, did you want to reach out to his wife?
Scheana: No. When everything happened, I just wanted to crawl inside a shell and hide. I broke up with him immediately, of course, but I was terrified to contact Brandi. Once I found out she was a friend of Lisa’s, though, I thought it was finally time to reach out and make things right. I’ve wanted to apologize for a long time.
Were you scared to meet her?
I’ve never been more nervous about anything in my entire life. I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t know if she was going to bite my head off or what.
Are you happy with the way it turned out?
Absolutely. I don’t think it could have gone any better. I really felt like she believed me when I told her I never had a clue he was married, that he lied to me the whole time.
Since filming the scene, have the two of you run into each other?
A few times, yes, and we’ve made small talk. I’m happy we can be cordial, especially because she comes to the restaurant a lot.
Knowing what you know of Eddie, do you think his and Leann Rimes’s marriage will last?
I hope so for the kids’ sake. I would hate for them to have to go through another divorce. But I know what kind of person he is and, honestly, I think their relationship is based on material things. I mean, anything’s possible but I don’t see a heartfelt connection there.
In promos for Vanderpump Rules, one of your co-workers refers to you as a man-stealer. Did that upset you?
You know, I try not to care what people say about me. I know what’s true in my heart. You can call me a man-stealer and it may hurt for a bit, but I know that’s not who I am, especially after seeing how what Eddie did affected all our lives — his, Brandi’s and mine.
A lot of the staff at SUR carry on relationships outside of work. Does it get in the way of doing your jobs at the restaurant?
All the time. There are only so many people on staff during a shift. So on any given shift you’ll either be working with your best friend, the person you’re dating, someone you’ve just broken up with, or someone you’re not talking to at the moment.
If you’re in a fight with the bartender and the two of you aren’t speaking, you still have to go to the bar to get drinks for your tables. It can get really awkward. Personal relationships shouldn’t affect your work, but at SUR it happens every day.
You’re also all aspiring actors, singers or models. As your boss, is Lisa understanding about that?
For the most part, she doesn’t really have to deal with it. Like, if we want to leave early for an audition, we go to our mangers. Lisa has enough going on in her life, she doesn’t need to deal with our day-to-day BS.
So safe to say, when she does get involved, it’s pretty major?
Oh yeah. Like if an employee is caught having sex in the bathroom — and for the record, it wasn’t me — you can bet she’s going to make herself heard.
Someone gets fired this season. Safe to say they deserved it?
Oh yeah. For what they did… definitely.
Tune in Monday, January 7 for a special two-hour episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills at 9 pm ET/PT
