The blowout between Tamra Barney and Alexis Bellino in The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 8, Episode 4 probably could have been avoided if Vicki Gunvalson hadn’t invited Alexis to the party (and if Tamra hadn’t agreed to let her come).
But in her Bravo blog, Vicki insists she didn’t mean to cause trouble by having Alexis by her side at the intimate shindig.
“Leading up to the party, I was not aware of the reasons why Heather, Gretchen, and Tamra were upset with Alexis,” Vicki wrote. “I guess I chose to not to know because it's usually very petty and meaningless and will blow over.”
That said, Vicki Gunvalson was appalled by how the other women treated Alexis at the party.
“Alexis went in with nothing but good intentions, to show Tamra that in spite of their differences she is supporting her gym,” wrote Vicki. “That speaks volumes to me.”
Whether you want to call it “bullying” or “ganged up on,” Vicki says the behavior from the other Housewives during dinner was downright mean. She also felt bad for newcomer Lydia McLaughlin, who got quite an eyeful (and earful) of life as a Real Housewives of Orange County cast member during the boisterous affair.
Vicki also slammed Gretchen for making fun of her “my baby” comments during the party.
“She has NEVER been a mother, much less a grandmother, and has no idea the love that one has for a child until you become a mother,” Vicki wrote. “She acts all high and mighty, calling people out whenever she feels like it —- but to me it's just ignorant and stupid.”
Ouch! Do you think Gretchen’s words were out of line? And do you think Alexis should have thought twice about coming to the party, even as Vicki’s guest?
