Anyone who’s watched a Real Housewives reunion show or Bravo’s nightly talk show, Watch What Happens Live, knows the face of Andy Cohen. He never shies away from asking tough questions, and is probably one of the few people who can make even the fiercest housewife shed tears of remorse.
But this silver-haired maven of Bravo’s most popular programming is much more than just a TV host. So just who is Andy Cohen?
Andy started out his television career at CBS News, after receiving a degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University. He spent 10 years at the network, producing shows like 48 Hours, The Early Show, and CBS This Morning.
In 2000, Andy became the Vice President of Original Programming at Trio and was executive producer on the network’s Peabody Award-winning documentary, The N Word. He left Trio in 2005 to join Bravo, where he started as Senior Vice President of Original Programming & Development.
Name your favorite series on Bravo, and there’s a 99 percent chance that Andy has had a hand in making it happen. He’s the executive producer of Top Chef and the Real Housewives franchise, and he’s also produced shows like Project Runway, The Millionaire Matchmaker, Shahs of Sunset, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List, and many more. As of 2012, Andy is now the Executive Vice President of Development and Talent at Bravo.
As the face of Watch What Happens Live, Andy’s also credited with being the first openly gay late night talk show host. Some notable guests on WWHL include Jerry Seinfeld, Tina Fey, Liam Neeson, Anderson Cooper, Patti LaBelle, and Sarah Jessica Parker.
As if he needed anymore feathers in his cap, Andy is also a New York Times bestselling author thanks to his very first book, Most Talkative: Stories from the Frontlines of Pop Culture, released in 2012.
Is there anything Andy can’t do?
