We’ve only spent one season with Real Housewives of Orange County’s Heather Dubrow, but she’s already made quite an impression! Here’s a primer on this proudly brunette member of the show’s blonde brigade.
For one, she’s a unapologetically native New Yorker! Heather was born in the Bronx, raised in Chappaqua, and stayed upstate to get her BFA in musical theater from Syracuse University in 1990.
Fun fact: While she was in college Heather took a turn on the pageant circuit! Her titles include Miss Greater Syracuse 1989, and Miss Congeniality at the 1989 Miss New York State Pageant.
Everyone enjoying the first and last time Miss Congeniality and Real Housewives appear in the same sentence? Good.
After college, she headed west to get her acting career going. Heather, then known as Heather Paige Kent, landed guest spots on shows like Married With Children and Roseanne before nabbing her first larger gig on the series Life With Roger in 1996. After that, her career took on a solidly supporting lead trajectory, with roles in the Jenny McCarthy sitcom Jenny, Stark Raving Mad, and That’s Life!
Heather’s acting took a backseat when she became a mom. She met her future husband Terry Dubrow on a blind date, and married the Newport Beach plastic surgeon in 1999. The couple now have four children together: 9-year-old twins Nicholas and Maximillia, 6-year-old Katarina, and 2-year-old Collette.
Her current roles of reality star and stay-at-home mom keep her plenty busy, but Heather likes to keep her schedule full to the brim. She and Terry have quite a thing for real estate: The couple recently designed their dream home...and then sold their dream home, which didn’t sound nearly as crazy once we learned they bought and sold nine houses in eight years.
And to top it all off, Heather is still acting! She does sitcom guests spots from time to time, including a 2013 appearance in Hot In Cleveland. Heather also says she still shoots television pilots once a year...that never get picked up.
Selfishly, we’re pretty glad! We want Heather right where we can see her...on Real Housewives of Orange County.
