In Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 1, we watched the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ladies party it up at Lisa Vanderpump’s obviously very rich friend Mohamed's house mansion. They wined, dined, and generally seemed to have a pretty good time watching Kim ignore her date. And then, like a blast from the past, we were reacquainted with Lisa's friend in Season 2, Episode 8, when he offered to host Lisa's daughter Pandora's engagement party at his home.
We still had one big, looming question: Who is Mohamed?
We put our J-school degrees to the test and did some research about this Mohamed character. Here’s what we found out: His full name is Mohamed Amid. Los Angeles Times reports "Hadid designed, built and decorated the main residence himself. He developed Ritz-Carlton hotels in New York, Houston, Washington, D.C., and Aspen, Colo., and has built commercial and residential developments and high-end custom homes in Beverly Hills, Aspen and Mexico throughout his 30-year career."
His Bel Air mansion, known as Le Belvedere, was originally listed at $85 million in 2009, but later dropped to around $50 million. The residence comes complete with 10 bedrooms, 14 baths, a grand ballroom, Moroccan room, Turkish hammam, 19 elevators, and a swan pond.
As for Mohamed's relationship with Lisa? Sources call the pair “close friends,” but we can’t find any specifics. We can assume their friendship probably has something to do with Lisa’s gal pal Kyle Richards' hubby, who is also a real estate mogul. Plus, according to Lisa’s website, she absolutely loves keeping up with the real estate market in LA. She too has designed all of her own homes. Only makes sense she’d befriend the top dog in real estate, right?
