SUR Lounge and restaurant, featured in both Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules, is located in the heart of West Hollywood. In Season 2, Episode 3 of RHoBH, Lisa Vanderpump discusses the addition of the 2,500 square-foot lounge addition to SUR restaurant. While husband Ken was not totally on board with the plan at first, Lisa decided to go ahead with the idea anyway.
The lounge space is decorated with sculptures of Shiva, a garden of green plants and plush pillows. An attached patio features bird cages and leafy trees. “I was looking for an eclectic feeling. Is it Vietnamese? Balinese? French? I wanted you to not be able to put your finger on it,” Lisa explained to The Hollywood Reporter about the decor. The menu for the SUR lounge, unlike the restaurant, is limited to salads and appetizers.
Lisa told RumorFix it is all about finding the right balance to bring in the celebrity guests to the lounge.
“It’s a combination of the food, the live DJ and the best music for which SUR is known, the ambiance and of course, the cocktails. Having a cucumber martini in the back garden is my idea of paradise and I everyone to have the same experience when they visit SUR Lounge,” Lisa said.
While Lisa Vanderpump is the most visible partner in SUR, she is not the only owner. In fact, she and husband Ken only own 51 percent of the business. So who owns SUR Lounge in addition to the RHoBH stars? Well, Lisa Vanderpump supposedly co-owns the popular hotspot with husband Ken Todd, Argentinean restaurant mogul Guillermo Zapata and his wife Nathalie.
A Real Housewives of Beverly Hills preview for an upcoming episode features an accusation Lisa is not actually one of the SUR Lounge owners. Lisa took to her Bravo blog to reassure viewers this is totally untrue: "Rest assured, Sur belongs to my partner and me," Lisa says. "Just another unwarranted accusation that Camille for some reason found it necessary to voice." Lisa will also address the question of who owns SUR restaurant and lounge in Season 4, Episode 12 airing tonight on Bravo.
