Every summer, Kyle Richards annual white party is the place to see and be seen for all cast members, friends, significant others, and assorted hangers-on of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. After all, it’s usually where some of the season’s biggest drama goes down — and who wants to miss that?

Turns out, two ladies who were otherwise expected at the bash did end up skipping the festivities: Camille Grammer and Dana Wilkey.

For months, Camille’s status on the show has remained unclear. Although several months back it was reported that she had quit the show, she’s been spotted filming with the cast and even joined several of them on a recent trip to Las Vegas.

However, as Wetpaint Entertainment was the first to report, Housewives “friend” Dana Wilkey was essentially dropped from the show after Season 2. But she, too has been spotted at events here and there, and has remained in touch with various cast members.

Now, a show insider sums up the reason neither women were in attendance. “Camille is still very much part of the group, but her role on the show has been reduced,” the insider explains. “You’ll see her from time to time, but she’s not as integral to the storylines as she used to be. It’s completely her choice and she’s very happy these days.”

Dana, on the other hand, “has almost nothing to do with the show anymore,” the insider adds. “She’s still friendly with some of the women but there just wasn’t room to give her more of a role.”

Even so, it sounds like both women had their own July 4 fun. According to their Twitter feeds, Camille celebrated in Hawaii and Dana hosted her own red-hot party in Malibu!
