It's an exciting day for Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein, who just became a U.S. citizen. But will she still retain her Canadian citizenship?
Lisa was born in Toronto, Canada, but has lived in Miami for years. On May 8, she announced on Twitter that she has passed her U.S. citizenship test, and she was excited about the perks that her newfound citizenship entails.
"So excited to announce I just passed my US citizen test! I will be officially sworn in next week," Lisa tweets. "Proud to call myself an American today! Now I will be able to vote!"
But don't think for a moment that Lisa is somehow ashamed of or distancing herself from her Canadian roots. Far from it! "I will always love Canada!" she adds. "Looks like I can be a dual citizen! Best of both worlds."
We're thrilled for Lisa, and we're proud of her for working hard and passing the test. We also love the photo (above) that she posted of herself with an American flag. She's already so patriotic!
Lisa is not the only Real Housewives star to become a U.S. citizen after appearing on Bravo. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster, who was born in the Netherlands, earned her citizenship last year.
