As you know, The Real Housewives of New Jersey just finished filming Season 5, which is due to premiere Sunday, June 2 (can’t wait!). In preparation for the debut, the ladies did a little press appearance with Housewives mogul, Andy Cohen.
While all five ladies weren’t on the show at the same time, Andy asked them all similar questions, including what they learned from Season 5 of the hit show. In the montaged clip, each of the ladies give a little insight into the lessons they’ve learned from their experiences on the new season.
“I really learned to be really comfortable in my own skin,” said Melissa Gorga. In the rest of the clip, the H’wife goes on to say “I sometime second guess myself and wonder should I say that, should I not say that? I don’t want to sway any direction because I feel that audience wants to hear a certain thing or the viewers want to hear a certain thing. No — this is what I believe in, this is how I feel and that’s it.” Way to stick your guns!
Meanwhile, H’wivfe Jacqueline Laurita said she learned “to be understanding of other people’s point of view, what other people are going through,” and frenemy Teresa Giudice simply stated that she learned “you get scrutinized — you have people that love you and people that hate you.”
Caroline Manzo said that she learned that by being on reality TV, you can learn a lot about yourself, saying “You see yourself on the outside looking at yourself. It’s a gift, it’s really amazing.”
However, when it came to lessons learned, it seemed that Kathy Wakile had the most to say. In the trailer we get a glimpse of Kathy and her hubby Richard having communication problems, and it seems to have struck a chord with her. Kathy discussed that the delivery of words is a huge thing to be aware of because of “how things can be taken out of context.”
“You may mean that one way, but it comes out a different way and you don’t realize that, so I think that’s a big lesson. You know and how people perceive you, the way you sound, the way you deliver your feelings. It’s a big change when you watch yourself back.
We got the memo Kathy, we got the memo.
