The last time we heard about Real Housewives of New Jersey husband, Joe Giudice, the beefy guy got into trouble in 2010 after he was busted driving with his brother’s license because his own has been suspended. The reality TV star was offered a plea deal on April 1, in which he’d serve four years in NJ State Prison, but Joe and his attorney, Miles Feinstein, turned down the offer. Now, Joe has been given a date for his case to go to trial.
NorthJersey.com reports that Joe appeared in court (alongside his mother) on May 28 with his attorney and received a trial date of July 15. After reviewing the evidence and documentation of the case, the judge and lawyers agreed that this would give Joe an appropriate amount of time to prepare.
“We are happy that a trial date has been set and we look forward to Joe being exonerated,” said Miles. He went on to say to predict that the trial to be rather long, as it will be hard to find a jury in July, as well as one that’s unbiased — you know, because Joe is a reality TV star and almost everyone watches him on RHoNJ with his wife, Teresa.
Miles has said that he thinks the state is coming down so hard on Joe because of his celebrity status — offering him jail time in April 1 plea deal. However, if Joe doesn’t win this case he’s looking at ten years behind bars. That’s a lot of seasons of RHoNJ without Mr. Giudice!
