During the Season 4 Reunion of The Real Housewives of New Jersey (which aired last year) Caroline Manzo swore that she was done with Teresa Giudice and all the drama that came with her.
However, during the June 2 premiere of Season 5, the mother of three couldn’t help but empathize with Joe Giudice as he watched his sister and his wife argue via text message over who would take their daughters on a much-anticipated playdate. Caroline mused to the Bravo cameras that if the families couldn’t even agree on the small stuff, there was no way they are ever going to see eye-to-eye.
During a subsequent chat with her own sister-in-law, Jacqueline Laurita, Caroline mentioned that she really wanted to help Joe, so she met him later in the episode to discuss his situation with Teresa. What happened next was pretty surprising.
As Joe was recalling how hurt he’s been by his sister and how damaged their relationship is, Caroline gave him sound advice before offering to meet with Teresa herself, on Joe’s behalf, of course. Joe took the peacemaker up on her offer, and in the below sneak peek clip for Season 5, Episode 2, we see Caroline getting ready for the big sit-down.
Explaining why she’s getting involved to her daughter, Lauren, Caroline notes, “It’s really hard for him [Joe] to talk to Melissa and Kathy and everybody because they’re in it with him. This is the Hail Mary football for him.”
