Season 5 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey kicked off this past weekend on June 2, which means we have the pleasure of once again reading five-to-six page Bravo blog posts from Jacqueline Laurita. Her first ramble of the year was dedicated to her son, Nicholas, whose struggle with autism will be heavily featured this season. But, whatever you do, don't call it Jacqueline's storyline.
"Please understand that ‘Autism’ is NOT my ‘storyline.’ ‘Autism’ is our ‘reality.’ We live with it everyday," the mama emphasized.
She went on to describe all of the research she has been doing this past year in an effort to do everything she can to help her son recover from the developmental disorder. We saw some of her hard work pay off on the season premiere during a Laurita family scene.
"As a parent, it is my job to bring out the best child that my child can be and to love him for whoever he is," Jacqueline wrote, adding, "If I have to push him a little harder now while giving him the tools that could help make his future a little easier for him, you can bet I will do just that! I believe in him and my efforts are paying off. Nicholas is progressing! "
We are happy to hear it. Keep up the good work!
