It’s been a tumultuous time for the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey — both onscreen and off. On the show, Kathy Wakile’s cousins Joe Gorga and Teresa Giudice still aren’t on speaking terms. Things have gotten so bad, Joe enlisted non-family member Caroline Manzo to help broker peace.
In real life, Teresa’s got bigger problems, with hubby Joe Giudice’s July 15 court date coming up quickly. If convicted of falsifying information to obtain a driver’s license, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
Speaking with Wetpaint Entertainment, Kathy opened up about all the drama.
Wetpaint: Did you think Caroline was out of line in approaching Teresa about making up with her brother?
Kathy: You know, Caroline has been a friend to all of us. People have come down on her for putting her two cents in, but I disagree. To fix the problem, both parties have to be open it. At that time, both parties weren’t. So if she knows some moves to maybe help one of the parties along, why not try them?
You’re talking about Teresa being willing to come to the table?
Right. Caroline was put into an uncomfortable situation, but she was just trying to help. And I think she offered good insight.
Things can’t be easy on Teresa right now, with Joe’s court date coming up so soon…
All I can say about that is that I wish them the best. I would hate to see anything terrible happen to him. He’s got four daughters at home who need him.
What about your family? How’s Rosie?
Rosie’s great. She’s really enjoying herself and feeling good. She’s had a few relationships but nothing serious. Rosie’s in love with Rosie right now.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
