The future hasn't been looking too bright lately for Teresa and Joe Giudice, who will be heading back to court on October 8 to stand trial for 39 counts of felony fraud, which could potentially land them up to 50 years in prison. Regardless of the outcome (they have both pleaded "not guilty"), the Real Housewives of New Jersey couple will likely be left with some hefty legal bills — which, according to In Touch, will be paid off by Teresa and Joe's most loyal fans.
On August 28, the website reported that Malibu Beach Resort in Long Island would be hosting a fundraiser this Thursday to help "vindicate" Teresa. "We are collecting funds to aid her defense,” a spokesperson for the restaurant said. “She has four young children who desperately need her in their lives.”
While it's true that Teresa will be making an appearance at the Malibu Beach Resort tonight from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m., it's completely untrue that it's to raise money to pay off her legal bills.
"Tonight's appearance at Maliblue is just a meet & greet w/ fans," Teresa wrote on Twitter this afternoon. "I just heard that some of the workers there wanted to support me, and that is very sweet & I appreciate it, but if anyone wants to support me, please do it by donating to a charity I love: @NephCure. Xx."
And just to make her point extra clear, Teresa retweeted a post saying the press has "false information" about tonight's event.
Straight from the horse's mouth, people. But do you believe her? Tell us below if you think tonight's event is really a fundraiser in disguise!
