After the recent announcement that Caroline Manzo would be leaving The Real Housewives of New Jersey and focusing on her spin-off show, Manzo’d With Children, many fans were wondering why the red headed Housewife wasn’t willing to do both shows at the same time.
Wetpaint Entertainment spoke exclusively with a show insider about Caroline’s decision to leave the show, and it turns out, there’s more to it than simply wanting to focus on her new spin-off.
“The truth is, Caroline’s storyline on the show has simply just come to an end,” the insider tells us. “The show really and truly has become about the Gorgas and the Giudices. Whereas Caroline used to be a main player, her role has turned into more of an advisor this season. As far as RHoNJ goes, there’s just not a lot left for her to do, which is fine by her. She doesn’t want to be at the center of the drama and the ugliness anymore.”
Caroline was a member of the original cast and has been with the show for all of its five seasons so far. She’s often the voice of reason in the midst of heated fights and arguments, but her new show will be all about her family and their new restaurant.
“She loved filming the pilot to her new show and hopes very much it gets picked up,” the insider continued. “It will have a much lighter feel and it will be about her kids and her family. And at the end of the day, that’s who she wants to be surrounded by.”
